Personal Background:

Matt Rossman

I am a native Oregonian, born in Portland and raised on a small farm in McMinnville. I graduated from Oregon State University in 1982, with a degree in Political Science and received my Juris Doctorate from Willamette University in 1986. My college career was highlighted by serving as the collegiate campaign coordinator for the reelection campaign of U.S. Senator Mark O. Hatfield.

My legal career began in 1986, where I clerked for Multnomah County Circuit Court Judge Phillip Roth. I served as District Counsel for the U.S. Small Business Administration and Special Assistant U.S. Attorney in Portland. I opened my own law office in 1996, focusing on business, real estate, litigation and financial services.

Additionally, I was an owner and principal of a real estate development project in downtown Portland and a consultant and principal for a proposed commercial gaming resort and entertainment center in East Multnomah County.

I enjoy the beautiful outdoors here in Oregon by hiking, golfing, fly fishing, kayaking and friendly family competition with my Pac-12 family (i.e. I am an OSU Beaver, my wife is an Oregon Duck and both my children are University of Arizona Wildcat graduates).

Based on my diverse background as a practicing attorney, business owner and developer, I bring a unique perspective and broad experience to the practice of law that has served my clients well.
